Tests

Check whether you actually know it

Reading your notes creates the impression that the material has stuck. A test on the same material shows where it has not. Smartby builds questions from your file or topic, you answer them in the app, and you see the score immediately.

Questions from your material

The test comes from the file or topic you have to master, not from a general question bank.

A score straight away

You see how much went well and which areas came back weak.

Weak spots carry forward

What you did not know becomes flashcards for revision, or goes back into the study plan.

How it works

  1. 1

Pick a material or a topic

A file, one of your notes, or just the topic you are being tested on.

  2. 2

Take the test in the app

You answer the questions in place, without copying anything onto paper.

  3. 3

Go back to what did not stick

Turn the weak spots into flashcards, or add them back to your plan.

Common questions

Can I build a test from my own PDF?

Yes. You add the file and Smartby builds questions from its content. You can also start from one of your own notes, or from a topic alone.

Is Smartby suitable for running a quiz for a class?

No. Smartby is for checking your own knowledge — you take the test on your own account. If you are looking for a tool to run a live quiz in front of a group, Smartby is not built for that.

How are tests different from flashcards?

A test checks whether you can answer a question in context, and ends with a score that shows the gaps. Flashcards are for repeating single items and come back to the ones you get wrong. In Smartby one leads to the other: the weak spots in a test become flashcards.

Can the questions be wrong?

Yes. AI-generated content may contain errors, so results and questionable items are worth checking against the source material.
