Is this study planner free and do I need an account?
You can generate a plan without an account. There are 3 attempts per day, shared with first-plan generation in Smartby onboarding. Each material-processing attempt counts, including failed attempts. Editing the title, pace and deadline or printing does not use your allowance.
Can I create a study plan for an exam?
Yes. Add your material and set a deadline and weekly time budget. The plan helps organize preparation but does not verify that your sources cover the official exam syllabus.
Which files can I use?
Text, PDF, DOCX, PPTX, Keynote, TXT, CSV, JPG, PNG and WebP photos, and MP3, WAV or M4A audio. Upload up to 4 files totaling 10 MB. The quality of extracted content affects the plan.
Where are my plans saved?
Up to 20 plans are saved locally in this browser. Clearing browser data removes the library. The temporary server draft and materials are available for transfer to the app for 24 hours. Local viewing and printing still work afterwards, but starting activities may require uploading your material again.
Can I download my study plan as a PDF?
Yes. Click the print icon next to your plan and choose Save as PDF in the browser dialog. The printout includes topics, activities, instructions, durations and scheduled dates.
What if my study plan does not fit the deadline?
We show a warning and estimated completion date. Increase your weekly study time or move the deadline. The schedule updates without another AI generation.
How do I start learning with this plan in Smartby?
The button below the plan transfers the selected plan and saved settings to Smartby. After signing in or creating an account, you see the same plan without generating it again. Activating a first path follows the existing bonus rules for eligible new accounts; the free planner does not grant an additional bonus to an existing account.

How many study plans can I generate?
Your first onboarding path is an extra bonus. Further paths use the shared free AI material allowance, renewed each Monday. Source preparation and planned path activities are included. Paid plans have unlimited AI.
Can the plan change after I approve it?
Yes. When something slips, Smartby proposes an update together with the reason — you accept it or reject it. No change lands without your decision.
Will Smartby build a plan for final exams?
You can set an exam as your goal and add the materials you study from, and Smartby will spread them across the weeks up to that date. Smartby is not an official tool of any examination board and is not a source for exam timetables.
How is this different from asking an AI chat for a study plan?
A general chat writes a plan into the conversation and its job ends there. In Smartby the plan has dates, lands in your week, leads to specific activities, and updates itself when something slips.
Can the plan get it wrong?
Yes. The plan is a proposal based on what you give it, and AI-generated content may contain errors — which is why you approve it before it starts and can correct the topics and the durations.
